WCYDWT - Science

Win/Fail Physics

  • The principal is concerned that the school elevators may be unsafe for our students who cannot use the stairs. She wants to know if both the starting and stopping accelerations are too high.

  • You are a science consultant to the editors for the website You need to convince the editors about the validity of a YouTube video in which Kobe Bryant jumps over a pool of snakes and makes a slam dunk.

  • New playing fields are going to be built on the lot across the street from our school. Unfortunately, people will need to cross Route 121 (a 2-lane highway) to get to those fields. Currently, the proposed pedestrian crossing is a crosswalk with a flashing yellow light. Is there a speeding problem on Route 121? Do you think the proposed crossing is adequate? Present your findings to the Board of Education.
